Lord, please help me to hand over my anxiety about tomorrow to you. To live fully in today. And to remember that you are the God of my past, my present, and my future. May I live as anxiety free as I can. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Father, thank you so much for being my source... You desire to bless me, and your way of blessing me is by giving me yourself. Help me to recognize when you are giving me more and more of yourself and help me to hold on to who you are and what you're doing.
Lord Jesus, thank you that we have died to our old selves and we are now hidden in you. Help us to remember as we hide ourselves in You, that You've got our backs, and you are always working on our behalf."
Wherever you are, go back to the Lord in the big things and in the small things because he is faithful to lead us, and ultimately, our future is so much safer in his hands than our hands.
What's striking here is Paul's reminder that true godliness with contentment is what really leads to real wealth. That's the heart of our message today: finding true fulfillment not in gaining the world but in walking with God.
Dear Lord, thank you that you give us ways to press on. Thank you that you're as sure as the dawn. Thank you that you come to us as sweet showers, showers of blessing. I pray, Lord, that whether we are going through an easy time or a difficult time, that you would remind us of your mercies and your grace.
God's not calling us to more acts of religious fervor, he's asking us to live our faith in an honorable way that pleases him, that shines brightly his character, that glorifies him. And when we live like that, he can trust us to spread the hope of the gospel.
God is asking us to have a big faith - He's not looking for us to just follow all the rules of religion with no acknowledgement of the powerful one true God that loves us and created us. We need to live with the trust that He is able to do abundantly more than we think, ask, or imagine.
When Scripture says God is our portion forever, it means we have our inheritance, our future, and all we will ever need. We have it in an obedient and surrendered life to Him. All the rest is just icing on the cake as He chooses to bless us according to the deep desires of our hearts and for our eternal well-being.
Dear Jesus, thank you so much for the Psalms and how they call our hearts to worship you; how they remind us so clearly of our own sin, but also your redeeming mercies for us. Help us to bless you with our entire being and soul, and remember all the goodness that you've done.
When a crisis hits, we can fixate on our limitations... but today's passage reminds us instead to focus on God. Remember that He is our provider of everything we need; He is always with us and already knows the solution to our problems before we're even aware that a problem exists.
