Carol Burnett And Tim Conway Star In Funny Soap Opera Sketch

Two comedic legends, Carol Burnett and Tim Conway, bring the laughs once again as they star in yet another hilarious skit from the beloved and classic Carol Burnett Show.

Soap operas are, for some reason, a television staple. Despite the terrible, over-the-top acting and the horrible writing, a segment of the population still faithfully watches them. Given the bad acting and poor writing, soap operas are easy and obvious targets for mockery and ridicule.

In a clip posted on YouTube, The Carol Burnett Show took aim at soap operas, mocking everything that makes those awful, over-the-top television programs memorable. Carol, Tim and even Harvey Korman appear in their faux soap opera, “As the Stomach Turns.”

The hysterical skit begins with Carol sitting at a table pouring herself a cup of tea while a man provides a voice-over, giving viewers a recap about what happened since the last episode of “As the Stomach Turns.” Seconds into the skit, Tim, dressed as an elderly man, makes his slow, steady and uproarious entrance into the room.

Eventually, after much effort, Tim sits down in a chair. Carol and Tim have a difficult discussion. She informs him that he’s being placed in a nursing home. He doesn’t accept the news well and attempts to “run” away. But don’t worry, he doesn’t get too far!

Vicki Lawrence enters the room as the “teenage temptress” and throws a wrench into everything. Soon enough, she becomes the object of desire for every man in “As the Stomach Turns,” even Tim’s elderly, 91-year-old character.

The entire sketch is absolutely fantastic, providing audiences with a ton of laughs. At one point, Carol and Harvey break character, unable to contain their laughter at Tim’s insane and hilarious antics.

But the highlight of the entire 14-minute skit is likely Tim’s slow-motion fall down the stairs. Much like The Carol Burnett Show, Tim’s “fall” is hysterical!

Tim Conway Is Purr-fect in Hysterical Carol Burnett Show Sketch

Legendary comedians Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Carol Burnett star in a laugh-out-loud skit in which Tim makes quite the first impression on his fiancée’s father.

The Carol Burnett Show featured an all-star cast and fantastic, hilarious writing. Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Vicki Lawrence were often placed in absurd, off-the-wall situations and then given the opportunity to use their God-given comedic talents to great effect. Their hilarious antics, which still have people laughing decades later, made for television gold.

In one classic sketch, Carol and Tim play a newly engaged couple hoping to win the approval of Carol’s strict and overbearing father. This is a big moment for their relationship and future together.

However, as Tim arrives for his first meeting with Carol’s father, he announces that he has undergone a series of allergy tests. Soon after Carol’s father (played by Harvey Korman) enters the room, things don’t go according to plan. Tim slowly begins acting more and more like a cat, no doubt a side effect of all those tests.

Harvey approaches Tim, holding out his hand for a handshake. Tim, instead of meeting his hand, sniffs the stranger’s hand. Things aren’t off to a great start, to say the least.

Put off by Tim’s greeting, Harvey tells Carol, his daughter in the sketch, that “there’s a lot to be said for being an old maid.”

Tim lunges at Harvey’s neck with his hand, and he hisses much like a cat who is upset or afraid.

Carol’s fiancée then begins scratching uncontrollably, commenting that he believes he’s come down with fleas.

But things go from bad to worse for the happy couple. Tim bats around a pocket watch that Harvey swings back and forth. The temptation is too much to withstand.

Harvey’s character, taken aback by the absurd behavior, reacts negatively to Tim. Tim once again hisses at Harvey, which causes him to join everyone else watching the skit and burst out in laughter.

The skit eventually ends with Tim being chased by a dog and climbing up the drapes. Despite everything, Tim and Carol get her father’s blessing.

Carol Burnett And Jerry Lewis Go On Date In Hysterical Sketch

Two comedic legends, Carol Burnett and Jerry Lewis, play two socially awkward individuals on a first date in another hilarious sketch from The Carol Burnett Show.

Dating can be a weird and uncomfortable process. Mustering up the nerve to ask someone out can be a daunting task. But first dates can be even more unpleasant as two people try to strike up a conversation to get to know one another. Sometimes there’s a spark or a connection, and other times, it ends badly.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Carol Burnett and Jerry Lewis play two people who are odd and peculiar by nearly every conceivable measure. They’ve been set up on a date by their loud, overbearing parents, who inform them that much is riding on them forging a love connection. The pressure is on for these two people to hit it off.

Jerry Lewis, wearing dark, thick-rimmed glasses, a suit jacket and slacks several inches too short, enters the room for his big date. Carol also wears thick glasses and has a “postnasal drip.”

The date is off to a rough start as Jerry walks into and trips over the couch. They quickly size each other up, and the conservation is not exactly sparkling. Each talks about their background and their social failures.

About halfway through the skit, Carol’s character states that her father suggested she undergo plastic surgery. Jerry asks when she plans to have it done, and Carol hilariously responds that it has already been completed.

There is also some dancing, which is essentially nothing more than Jerry hoping and jumping about the room.

But then something odd and unexpected happens. The two quickly fall in love and share what is likely the weirdest first kiss possible. They then follow it up with the strangest second kiss ever.

How Carol and Jerry made it through the entire sketch without laughing or smiling is beyond me. It is an absolutely hysterical sketch!

Surprise Party Goes Wrong In Hilarious Carol Burnett Show Sketch

Carol Burnett tried to throw her husband a surprise birthday party, but nothing went according to plan in the hilarious and classic sketch from The Carol Burnett Show.

Everyone loves a good birthday celebration, especially the cake that often accompanies those shindigs. Throwing birthday parties is just one of the many ways to show friends and family how much we care and love them. But for those who are feeling a little more ambitious, there are surprise birthday parties. They do require a lot more planning and even some deception.

In a video posted on YouTube, Carol has put together a surprise birthday party for her husband. Almost everything is in place, and it's nearly time for the man of honor to arrive home for the big surprise.

The food is complete and out, and guests are beginning to arrive as expected. But just as Carol is putting on the finishing touches for the gathering, things go off the rails quickly in the laugh-out-loud skit.

Much to Carol’s dismay, Carol’s husband arrives home much earlier than normal. She is forced to improvise as she desperately tries to keep her husband in the dark about the party.

As she inadvertently screams in his face and ear, Carol then sends him on a wild goose chase in their house after his keys. While this is happening, Carol hilariously shuffles the guests all over the house, hoping to keep them out of her husband’s sight until the proper moment.

Things go from bad to worse when the guests are supposed to appear and surprise Carol’s husband and shout, “Happy Birthday!” While they leave the kitchen and enter the living room, they slam Carol’s husband in the face with the door, leaving him on the floor unconscious.

The failed surprise birthday party is yet another hysterically funny and classic skit from the legendary Carol Burnett and her iconic castmates.

Teen Boys And Girls Hilariously Differ When Making A Christmas List

Teenage girls and boys function in vastly different ways, but one hilarious video depicts how those differences play out during the Christmas season.

Christmas is, arguably, the best time of the year. It’s a time to celebrate the birth of the Savior with family, friends and a delicious meal or two. Often, the holiday is accompanied by gift exchanges where meticulously wrapped presents are opened and enjoyed. Most people wholeheartedly agree that Christmas is a terrific and joyous time.

But before those gifts can ever be opened and enjoyed, parents must have an idea as to what their children want. One video shows that getting this valuable information from teenage girls is often much easier than from male teenagers.

The laugh-out-loud video consists of the mother playing both parts – the teenage girl and the male teenager. It quickly cuts back and forth, showing the noticeable disparity between the two as they present their wish lists for Christmas.

The daughter has gone all out, creating for her parents a detailed and professional-looking presentation.

“Thank you for joining me today for my presentation of my Christmas Wish List,” she says.

The young man, on the other hand, seems bothered by the question. He’s reluctant to provide this information, to say the least.

The young woman provides reasons why she is worthy of the gifts she is about to request. She has even created a hierarchy for the gifts. She has ranked them in the order of desire from highest to lowest.

The male teenager struggles to come up with his list. He starts hunting and searching for his list between the couch cushions. He’s eventually successful, but it’s not exactly helpful. It’s a small piece of paper with the word “hoodies” written on it.

At the end of the video, the video’s two creators explained that instead of exaggerating the dialogue, it was true to life and their experiences.

“We didn’t really write it,” the man explains. “I just have to jump in here. Like a lot of times when we do these bits, like, we have to elevate it a lot. Like we go kind of over the top, just to, like, make a satire out of it. We basically just cut and pasted our daughter’s quite thoughtful Christmas wish list.”

All-Time Best Animal Impressions From Tim Conway

The immensely talented and laugh-out-loud funny Tim Conway got in touch with his inner animal when he portrayed several on The Carol Burnett Show

The Carol Burnett Show is a classic American television program. The show has kept people laughing for decades. The program's zany, unpredictable sketches and legendary, comically gifted cast are unlikely to ever be matched. The laughs were never few or far between during The Carol Burnett Show

Tim Conway was one of those on the show who consistently had the studio audience and those watching at home roaring with laughter. A lot of times Tim’s comedic timing and memorable characters even had his fellow castmates unable to contain their laughter.

A clip posted on YouTube shows the many times when Tim assumed animal characters on the show. The clip begins with Carol introducing Tim and explaining his surprising regularity when it comes to playing members of the animal community.

It's only seconds into the clip, and Tim has the studio audience in hysterics. While portraying a cow being milked for the first time, Tim’s facial expressions are enough to get the laughs going.

Next up, Tim takes on the mannerisms of a cat. Harvey Korman, who appears in the sketch with Tim, only gets through a few lines before he’s having to conceal laughter. Tim’s feline character eventually snatches a dangling watch, much to the amusement of Harvey.

Then, in a get-up that makes Tim look like Bugs Buggy, he takes the witness stand in a courtroom. His antics in court thoroughly annoy the attorney questioning him, but he has the studio audience, once again, in stitches.

Next, as a dog, Tim breaks Harvey up once again. This time, he doesn’t even try to conceal it because doing so would have been absolutely useless.

It’s amazing that anyone was able to get through an entire sketch with Tim Conway without absolutely bursting into laughter and breaking character. He was so incredibly talented that often all it took was a look from Tim to cause extreme and uncontrolled laughter.

Proverbs 17:22 “A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.”

Tim Conway on Johnny Carson Show as World Famous Jockey Lyle Dorf

Enjoy this classic video in which Tim Conway appears on the The Johnny Carson Show as the world famous jockey, Lyle Dorf. Tim Conway demonstrates his comedic talent in and out of character during the 15-minute clip.

When this show aired in January 1986, Tim Conway had already seen incredible success in movies and television, having starred in several Disney films and other movies and having become a regular on the The Carol Burnett Show.

On this particular evening, he is promoting his latest comedy about the hijinx of a group of friends who like to gamble on horses. The Longshot, which he both wrote and starred in, was released in January 1986—the month of this television appearance.

Tim and Johnny chat for several minutes, and the conversation quickly turns to one of Tim’s most famous characters. Mr. Tudball was a grouchy businessman with an indifferent, careless, and curvy secretary; Carol Burnett played the secretary, Mrs. Wiggins. Mr. Tudball was supposed to be Swedish, but Tim used a Romanian accent for the character.

Tim explains that he first tried the accent during a traffic stop one night when he found himself without his license (or pants), and he thought he’d assume an accent in an attempt to avoid a citation. We don’t know if that’s true or not, but it’s a good story!

Tim talks about marrying in 1984 for the second time for money, adding that his wife is nearing 90, heavily insured, and hang-gliding at that very moment!

Born in Ohio, Tim was once an exercise boy for race horses. He shares that he invests in horses, but admits that the economics of the sport don’t really add up if the purses don’t pile up! He admits that the inherent danger in horse racing was key in his decision not to pursue a career as a jockey. Again, his dry manner leaves us wondering how much is true.

The full show included a clip of The Longshot, but this clip does not. However, we do meet another notable Tim Conway character. Johnny returns after an ad to talk to Jockey Lyle Dorf, his name a pun on the word “dwarf.”

Lyle Dorf is shorter than Tim Conway’s actual 5’6”, because Tim plays Lyle on his knees. He  channels Mr. Tudball’s accent, has added a mini mustache that looks like Adolf Hitler’s, and his belly prevents his satin jacket from fully buttoning. He’s quite a sight!

Johnny now visits with Lyle Dorf about his racing techniques, which Lyle demonstrates while leaning far forward, backward, and sideways on his “feet.” He shares his exercise routine, which includes super challenging toe touches. And, perhaps most impressive is the way in which Lyle jumps up so quickly after doing a sit up!

Mr. Conway is funny throughout the interview and the skit portion of his appearance. And, there isn’t one curse word or one sexual joke shared. That’s pretty cool!

His clever writing, timing talent, and, yes, athletic gifts combined to create a character that first appeared during this January 1986 show, but went on to appear in eight films about a variety of sports! Well done, Mr. Conway! Lyle Dorf may not be much of a jockey, but you were one amazing  comedian!

“The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” 1 Timothy 1:5

Tim Conway As Old Sheriff Battles Robbery Suspect In Hilarious Skit

The incomparable Tim Conway, as an old sheriff, who moves and reacts with the speed of molasses, goes up against a bank robbery suspect in a hilarious skit.

During its run on TV, The Carol Burnett Show produced hundreds of classic sketches that featured its legendary cast in bizarre, zany and laugh-out-loud situations. Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman never failed to cause the audience and those watching to laugh hysterically. Often, they couldn’t even make it through a sketch without breaking out into laughter themselves.

In yet another classic skit from The Carol Burnett Show, Harvey plays a mean, nasty and gruff character who has just robbed a bank in the Wild West. He enters the saloon, and everyone is immediately on edge.

Seconds later, Tim Conway, the town’s ancient sheriff, enters, or crawls, into the establishment. He sits next to the bank robbery suspect and starts a friendly poker game. However, before the game can get underway, the sheriff explains the rules and then constructs the tiniest, most pathetic-looking cigarette ever.

Harvey, who sits right next to Tim, can’t help but break out into laughter. Somehow, at least for the time, Tim manages to keep things together. But as soon as he turns to look at Harvey and asks for a light, a noticeable smirk comes over his face.

Their game doesn’t get far before the sheriff learns about his fellow poker player’s dastardly deed. The two men on opposing sides of the law find themselves in a tense standoff. Harvey draws his gun, but Tim has a much more difficult time finding and drawing his weapon.

Luckily, things end on a positive note for the townspeople. Harvey’s character is subdued, and the sheriff manages to get his weapon out of its holster. He fires his gun and the bullet hits everything but its intended target.

Proverbs 15:15 “All the days of the troubled are evil; but he whose heart is glad has an unending feast.”

Classic Carol Burnett Sketch Reminds Us Of Nostalgic TV Ads

A hilarious skit featuring the legendary Carol Burnett shows the pervasive nature of advertising in our world.

TV ads, radio commercials and other media trying to sell a product or service are everywhere. Driving down the road, there are bound to be several billboards along the highway for fast-food restaurants. Log into Facebook or check your email and you'll have to scroll past ads to get to the next post or email.

The Carol Burnett Show uses the fact that we’re hit constantly with ads as the basis for a classic and laugh-out-loud sketch. In the short, two-and-a-half-minute clip, Carol enters the kitchen dressed in a very homely manner while carrying a piece of clothing. But when she goes to put the shirt away, things go hilariously wrong.

Everything Carol does or attempts to do is met by a voiceover trying to sell her something. It appears that Carol has experienced this type of thing before. She responds to the first ad saying, “It’s happening again!”

She answers the door and receives a kiss from the milkman. A voiceover then states, “He kissed you once, but will he kiss you again?”

It's clear that Carol is slowly being driven crazy by all the ads invading her life. “Who said that?” she yells.

Carol opens a can of green beans and gets an ad for the Jolly Green Giant. She dips into a bag of chips and a voice immediately says, “I betcha can’t eat just one.”

Then, what appears to be the last straw for Carol, a bra, out of nowhere, starts dangling in the air. Of course, she then gets an ad for women’s underwear.

Having heard and seen enough, Carol has finally made the decision to vacate the premises. She is getting out while she still has a bit of her sanity. Although, that doesn’t quite turn out great either.

Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Harvey Korman And Tim Conway Star In Hilarious Hot Dog Vendor Sketch

Laughs can be found when preparing and buying food, especially when two comedic legends are in the sketch.

The Carol Burnett Show remains a beloved program decades after its run on television ended. It sported an insanely talented, legendary cast and excellent writing. Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were two members of the historic cast.

One classic skit from the show features Tim as an elderly gentleman running a hot dog stand and Harvey as one of his customers. The hilarious skit begins with a construction worker asking for directions to the post office. Unfortunately, Tim’s character doesn’t answer the man’s inquiry in a timely manner and things get hysterically worse from there.

Moments later, Harvey, playing a rushed businessman seeking lunch, sits at the counter. After Harvey grabs his seat, it’s clear that both men are going to have a tough time keeping it together. Noticeable smirks come across both of their faces.

Harvey’s character then politely places his order. “I’d like a hot dog and a chocolate shake, please,” he says.

But too bad for Tim’s elderly character, his memory isn’t what it used to be. This doesn’t go over well with the businessman on the other side of the counter. His level of annoyance increases rapidly. He’s soon barking out his order.

Tim’s character goes to greater and greater lengths to fulfill the order. All his efforts are in vain. His memory has failed him miserably.

At about the 6-minute mark of the clip, as Tim is hilariously handling several hot dogs, Harvey tries to but fails to mask his laughter at Tim’s antics.

Eventually, Tim’s character does fulfill the hot dog and chocolate milkshake order...kind of.

How Tim is able to keep it together during the sketch is beyond me. Harvey, on the other hand, wasn’t as successful in doing so.

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”

World’s Oldest Customer And World’s Oldest Salesman Meet In Carol Burnett Sketch

Tim Conway and Carol Burnett displayed their comedic genius in a hilarious skit about two elderly characters in a shoe store.

The Carol Burnett Show is one of television's best, most beloved shows. The show featured an all-star, legendary cast and put their extensive comedic talents to work in hilarious, zany and witty sketches.

In the program’s seemingly endless collection of hilarious skits, Tim Conway and Carol Burnett use age as a basis for a seriously hilarious sketch. Tim and Carol play two old characters who, by happenstance, end up in a shoe store alone together.

In the clip posted on YouTube, Tim plays a character who works in a shoe store. Carol is the elderly individual who enters the establishment, hoping to come away with a pair of blue slippers. The results of their interaction are laugh-out-loud funny, to say the least.

The sketch begins with the middle-aged store owner informing Tim that he needs to come out front to watch the store. He will only be gone for one hour. What could go wrong in only 60 minutes? Well, plenty.

Soon after Tim, who looks oddly similar to Albert Einstein, is put in charge of the store, Carol enters the location in a maroon-colored and white-dotted dress. She also sports a pair of huge, prominent false teeth.

At first, Tim mistakes Carol for a mannequin, dusting off her dress, chest and face. Their interaction only goes downhill from that point as the hilarity ensues. Tim cannot figure out how to get Carol’s shoe off. When he’s eventually successful, he fears he’s removed her leg from her body.

Later in the skit, Carol assists Tim with the ladder…kind of, anyway. He’s left dangling, holding on with one hand as Carol sends the ladder crashing into Tim.

But despite their odd interaction, the skit does end on a hilarious but sweet note. Carol and Tim’s characters walk off together, ready to enjoy lunch.

Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Carol Burnett Cannot Stop Laughing At Harvey’s Pie Face

Three legendary comedic actors couldn’t keep themselves from breaking character in yet another classic sketch from The Carol Burnett Show.

It’s been said that comedy is tougher than drama. Why? Well, comedy is so subjective. What makes one person laugh probably isn’t going to make the next guy double over in laughter.

The talented cast of The Carol Burnett Show had no problem keeping audiences laughing. In fact, clips of the program’s zany skits and off-the-wall characters are still keeping viewers laughing all these decades later. Often what was most difficult for Carol Burnett, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman was going an entire sketch without cracking up in laughter themselves.

A clip posted to YouTube is an excellent example of when cast members couldn’t keep it together. The skit begins with Carol’s character introducing herself – Mary Worthless.

Mary Worthless, as she explains, is a “do-gooder” and believes “everyone was put on Earth for some purpose.” As the viewers quickly learn, it appears Mary’s purpose is to wreck a perfectly happy and weird relationship.

The next scene begins with Harvey Korman and Vicki Lawrence playing a married couple who cannot keep their hands off one another. They describe themselves as “the most happily married couple in the whole world.” However, that marital bliss doesn’t last long after Mary Worthless arrives at their front door.

In seconds, Mary has the previously happy couple yelling and screaming at one another. They quickly appear to be on the rocks, their marriage in utter shambles. Near the end of the clip, Harvey ends up with a face full of pie and the cast busting out in laughter.

It gets to the point where Harvey and Carol cannot get through a line without laughing! Carol even buries her face in her hands, unable to contain her laughter any longer.
