Some may enjoy the beach, others a more mountainous, hilly region, while others might even opt for a staycation and decide to stay home for a week or two. So, vacation obviously means something different to different people, even to parents when they go on vacation with their children.

In a clip posted on YouTube, two parents take their young family on vacation but have very different experiences. You’d expect a family that goes on a trip together to spend time doing things as a family, but as it turns out, that is not always the case.

The video begins with the family standing together at their vacation destination, each stating they know precisely what they are doing with their free time first. Again, you would expect a family to enjoy spending time together on vacation, but that does not exactly happen here.

The clip quickly cuts to Mom in the spa, enjoying a relaxing moment by herself. She is husband-free and, most importantly to her, kid-free. Dad, on the other hand, has other plans. He is shown enjoying the water slide, loudly screaming right before he plunges toward the ground.

This happens several more times throughout the clip, showing that the mother values peace and quiet while also appreciating time alone. Hilariously enough, the father is the opposite, taking part in loud, boisterous water activities with his children.

This comedian ranked all the Southern states and declared which one is the “most Southern.” The funnyman Matt Mitchell has ranked 14 Southern states from least to most Southern. The United States is a large, massive country that spans from the Atlantic Ocean on the East to the Pacific Ocean on the West. The more than 300 million people who call the United States of America home live in one of the country’s handful of regions.

Each region in the USA – the Northeast, the Midwest, the Northwest, the Southwest, the West Coast and the South - all have their own identity and culture. Each region is different and unique in terms of weather, food, dress and even what people say and how they say it. Most people are proud of where they live in the country and will gladly tell you where they reside. But by and large, Southerners are the proudest, the most enthusiastic about where they live.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Matt goes through all 14 Southern states and ranks them. Not only does he rank them, but he also gives his reasons for putting each state where he did. His comments are full of his trademark humor and wit, likely to make you literally laugh out loud and maybe even agree with him.

I don’t want to spoil the list or Matt’s rankings, but I think most people will likely agree wholeheartedly with the place he says is the most Southern. I know whenever I think of the deep South, my mind automatically thinks of this particular state, and it’s hard to argue that it does not deserve the top spot as the most Southern state in the United States of America.

Neighbors will often say and think these things whenever someone new moves into their small town. This woman perfectly captured what many residents are likely thinking when a new family moves into their tiny town. Moving is rarely, if ever, a fun and enjoyable experience. It’s often said that moving is one of the most stressful things that a human being can do. There are simply so many moving parts when it comes to packing up one house and then unpacking and settling into another in a brand-new community. All this is without even considering how the new town or city will accept and welcome them. Will they be friendly, or standoffish and hostile?

Of course, in small towns, people notice everything that happens, mainly because there usually isn’t too much going on in these locations. So, when a new family moves in, you better believe the residents of every small town do notice and are watching quietly from a distance. Sounds creepy when it’s put that way, doesn’t it?

In a clip posted on social media, one woman hilariously captured what residents think and do when they see a new family moving into town. Her quick, rapid-fire, witty and hysterical comments will have you rolling with laughter.

“Where are they from?” she asked. “Well, what do they do? Why are they here? They ain’t got no family here? That’s suspicious.”

“They ain’t even waved at nobody yet,” she said.

“They don’t look stressed enough to live here,” she added.

“They ain’t even stood in their year with their hands on their hips yet,” she said.

Of course, all her concerns and questions about this new family could be easily answered by simply welcoming them to the neighborhood and getting to know them a little.

This type of math might make sense to people in one particular part of the country, while it leaves everyone else completely and totally lost. For some people, school was a breeze, while others struggled mightily in the classroom, with little to show for all their hard work. No matter what they did, nothing seemed to improve their GPA or strengthen their grasp of the material presented in class. Math was the one subject that always caused me problems. Every other subject and material came to me relatively easily, without putting forth much effort. However, math was always decidedly different and was something that I quickly grew to despise. Sure, that negative attitude and outlook on mathematics probably didn't help matters, but math and I never got along very well.

Instead of algebra, geometry and trigonometry, this form is referred to as “Southern math.” If, by the end of Matt’s lesson, you are entirely lost and confused about how it functions, you are likely not alone.

Things get off to a confusing start, as terms in Southern math have varying and different definitions. Nothing is set in stone when it comes to Southern math. Things are up for interpretation, which is generally not how math works.

“In the South, a couple can be any number between two and five,” Matt says.

He also defines what “a few” means, kind of.

“A few is any number six and almost a dozen,” he adds.

I don’t think Southern math will be taught in schools any time soon.

Anyone who has lived in or visited the Midwest for an extended period will immediately notice and be amazed by the accuracy on display. The weather is, and always will be, a popular topic of discussion. The weather is also helpful when struggling to find something to talk about. It can and does help with small talk. Also, the weather is so universal, something we all experience, that it translates well to anyone and everyone, who can easily talk about their experience with the present weather patterns, whatever they may be at that time.

Now, when talking about the weather, there are a handful of popular cliches, idioms, sayings and phrases that everyone uses at one time or another. We’re all guilty of using them, and there’s no use in denying it. But when it comes to the Midwest, people in that part of the country have a particular and recognizable way of talking about the weather.

A clip posted on YouTube captures how people in flyover country discuss the weather ideally. As someone who currently lives in the Midwest, I can say they were 100 percent accurate, and it wasn’t just for one or two months out of the year; they got all 12 of them right.

Since I despise winter and, in the Midwest, given how it seems to last forever, the ones that connect and resonate with me the most are those said in February and March.

“Forty degrees never felt so good,” the woman says as she wears a pair of shorts in February.

“This has to be the last snow, right?” she asks with a pained and worried expression.

While those are only two of 12, and again, I can assure you the others are correct as well.

Making any of these comments during an interview will guarantee you won’t be hired. The woman, during a faux job interview, rattles off a string of hilarious but disqualifying statements. Having a job is essential to survive and provide for a living. Sadly, given the present state of the economy and the ever-increasing cost of everything, even with a 9-to-5, it can still be challenging to make ends meet. For far too many people, this is their reality, and they have to cut here and there to pay bills and cover other necessities.

Since having a job is of the utmost importance to surviving, being prepared for and acing job interviews is a must. It’s an opportunity to put your best foot forward with a potential employer, and to tell them about yourselves and demonstrate what you’re capable of and in what areas you are skilled and excel.

Naturally, you want to avoid making strange, odd and other comments that would make that employer immediately decide against hiring you for whatever the position may be. In a clip posted on YouTube, one woman says just about everything you should never say in an interview. What she says is funny, but saying any of these would, without a doubt, land your resume in the recycling bin.

“Do y’all drug test?” the woman asked.

“Do y’all mind if I cuss? ‘Cause I don’t really know how else to express myself,” she asked.

“Y’all ain’t going to check my TikTok, are you?” she asked the individual interviewing her.

When possible employers ask if you have any questions for them, those are not the type they want to hear.

Many people say they are open-minded and willing to hear any and all views and opinions, even when they may contrast with what they think and believe. Of course, you and I both know this is rarely, if ever, true. It’s much easier to claim to be someone who can and will adopt and listen to other people’s points of view than to actually do it. Social media and 24-hour “news” channels prove this time and again.

Typically, debates on social media and 24-hour “news” channels quickly descend into screaming and shouting matches. Harsh words are exchanged, and people’s character gets attacked all in the name of “debate.” What usually happens is that people become more entrenched in and committed to the views they already have and retreat to their preferred cable news source, where information is presented in a way that confirms their preconceived ideas and opinions.

However, instead of a political topic, it’s something much more controversial: the pop vs. soda issue, and which one is the proper name for soft drinks. Usually, what you call them will have a lot to do with what region of the country you’re from, and that is what we learn in the skit.

Also, we learn that neither side is willing to give an inch. Like most debates today, there will be no compromise reached here. Both are willing to defend their positions to the death.

Funny enough, a third person appears near the end of the skit. It’s the individual that we can all agree is 100 percent wrong. It’s the person who calls every soft drink a Coke. That kind of person should be shunned from polite society. How are you going to refer to a Pepsi as a Coke? That’s madness.

Being a parent is a tremendous responsibility. There are many requirements and obligations that come with raising little ones. Of course, most parents do them gladly, simply because they love being parents so much. Is there anyone who could honestly say they do not love being a parent and caring for their children?

However, in addition to being a parent, most have other obligations, requirements, and tasks they must complete for work, for church or for various groups of which they are members. Things can quickly become overwhelming when so much is running through their brain at once. While they are doing one thing, they are likely imagining what they must do next and by when. Understandably, this can make staying in the moment, focused and on task extremely challenging.

“I don’t care what he said to you,” the father said. “That’s not the point. The point is that there’s two types of people in this world, and the world’s made up of 70 percent water. So, and it’s a circle, which makes me wonder how is it maintaining all that water and not falling out the bottom.”

A guidance counselor gave this student a reality check that was at once hysterical and humbling. The student likely did not see this response coming from his guidance counselor. Graduating from high school is a significant accomplishment. However, for most people, that is not the end of their educational journey. Bettering themselves through some form of continued learning is usually the course of action most students choose after earning their high school diploma. Typically, that means going to college or a trade school.

However, being 17 or 18 and trying to make such a big decision can be overwhelming. That is why high schools employ guidance counselors who help students figure out what to do after graduation. This can and does make that task a little less daunting and overwhelming. Guidance counselors offer support and assistance throughout the process.

After the student sits down, he states that he hopes to attend a very prestigious university - Brown or Johns Hopkins. Almost immediately, the guidance counselor tries to steer him away from that course of action. Instead, she comes up with other ideas.

“How about, maybe something different for you,” the guidance counselor says to the young man.

She then suggests a six-week screenwriting program or even subscribing to the Masterclass online classes.  The student is not on board with her ideas, and is obviously taken aback by her humbling suggestions, and her saying that she doesn’t see college as being for him.

No one wants to live in a messy, filthy house. As such, most people would rather not have others think that they live in a pigsty. That would be completely and utterly embarrassing. This can lead to household chores like mopping the floors, vacuuming and taking out the trash being pushed to the back burner. However, people lose this perspective whenever company is expected. Typically, people go on a cleaning sprint, quickly doing this and that. As she moves around the house, checking on the status of everything, she barks out orders, telling immediate family members to do this and that in the most hilarious way possible.

“Hey, turn it on the Food Network so it looks like we cook,” she says.

Snacking between meals is something we all do or have done at some point. What have all, unfortunately, been there, too.

The mother responds that she is not hungry and informs her daughter that she’s unsure what kinds of snacks are in the house. She advises the young that she’ll have to investigate the pantry to see what is available. Sadly, it becomes evident that the selection will be less than stellar.

But no one had any idea it was going to be this bad!

She opens the pantry to reveal it is sparse, to say the least. Given the horrible options, she lands on a box of Rice Krispies, but the horror show is not over yet, not even close.

For her next visit, she will surely remember to pack some actual snack food or at least a product with a best-by date in this century.

They never call to inform you that little Timmy or Sally aced the big science or history test. Nevertheless, this mother’s responses to the educator will have you doubled over in laughter and gasping for air.

“Oh, Miss Smith, what did he do now?” she asked. “Tell me he didn’t cheat off that kid who still eats glue. He ain’t even got enough sense to cheat off the smart kids.”

“Well, you know, you ain’t the first teacher to call,” she said. “You’re just the first one to call today.”

“Did he start with ‘no offense,’ and then proceed to say something really offensive?” she asked.

Living in harmony and peace with one another should always be a goal, something to strive toward. Who in their right mind would want this? Of course, constant peace and tranquility are not always possible, especially given that we live in a fallen and lost world, where sin’s presence is felt and seen everywhere we look and go.

We should all do what we can to achieve peace among ourselves.  Compromise, put others' needs ahead of our own, and think about how we can better their lives. After all, Christ did teach us to think of others as higher than ourselves. However, some individuals will and do go way overboard when trying to make everyone happy. They will do what they can, even if it means their well-intentioned actions negatively impact their own lives.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a comedian shows that people-pleasing isn't always the way to go, especially when it’s excessive. It can quickly get to the point where people-pleasing is nothing more than letting others walk over and take advantage of you.

The video chronicles the day in the life of a people-pleaser. The more he goes out of his way to help others, the more he negatively impacts himself.

The day begins with the young man sleeping on his bedroom floor after letting his second cousin’s best friend sleep in his bed, saying that his “floor is super comfortable.” Things only get worse from that point.

His people-pleasing ways cause him to get stuck in traffic, lose his job and become engaged to a woman he had been meaning to break up with for quite some time.

While peace is what everyone wants, sometimes it’s not always possible, especially when doing so means letting others take advantage of you.

The educator had an unexpected reaction when the young woman, seeking help with class material, walked into his office. For most people, after graduating from high school, they head off to college, trade school or another form of schooling to further their education. There is always more to learn, more facts and concepts to grasp. We should always be striving to better ourselves, which includes using every day as a learning opportunity in some form or another.

Those in college or who have ever been in college are likely familiar with professors holding office hours. Of course, these are set hours during which students can visit professors in their offices to get more individualized help with classroom material. Sadly, many students don’t take advantage of this opportunity to further their learning or get help.

A clip posted on YouTube shows that professors are well aware that most of their students will and do completely ignore their office hours. However, when one student unexpectedly shows up, the professor is, at first, shocked, then becomes agitated and hostile.

The young woman walks through the door, asking for the professor. He answers with a mouth full of food, as he chows down on his lunch, asking if he’s in trouble.

She starts asking him a question about the material, but he quickly cuts her off, asking if she has any friends who could help her out instead. Understandably, she was pretty taken aback by the professor’s question and by his demeanor toward her for showing up during office hours.

Hilariously, it soon becomes clear why the professor is so upset and bothered by the student’s presence. He had plans which are described as a “once in a lifetime opportunity.” The student is ruining his chance to see “The Lion King on Ice.”

Carol Burnett and Dick Van Dyke star in an unforgettable blind date skit. The two comedic legends will have you rolling with laughter in this classic sketch about two people looking for love. Watch the short but hysterical skit in which Carol and Dick play two people hoping to find Mr. and Mrs. Right.

Dating is not an easy process. It requires a lot of time, work and a ton of perseverance. Not every person will turn out to be the right person, but that’s what dating is all about. Some relationships will work, and others, for one reason or another, will not, which can be extremely discouraging.

Today, thanks to technological advancements, as with everything else, there are a handful of apps dedicated to helping people find one another. Before we all had smartphones, there were other ways to meet people and find potential dates. One of those methods was to sign up for a dating service that would connect single people looking for romantic relationships.

Of course, some of those matches were likely successful and others not so much. However, hopefully, there were no blind dates as bad as Carl and Dick’s in a clip posted on YouTube. In the opening moments of the classic skit, Dick and Carol are each shown three possible dates. 

They are both interested in two of the three people shown to them. Unfortunately, neither is interested in the other. In fact, when they watch one another, they laugh out loud and make disparaging comments about each other.

But as luck would have it, through a mishap, they are set up on a blind date. Initially, they are both outraged, and soon enough, the insults start flying. Then, something changes between them, and their blind date might not have been so horrible as they first thought. 

Well, at least for a few seconds, anyway.

Tim Conway and Carol Burnett turned a simple furniture store visit into comedy gold. The two comedic legends, once again, brought the laughs with their hysterical skit. Watch the short but hilarious clip to see the absolute mayhem Tim and Carol caused after they entered a furniture store.

Shopping is one of the worst things humans do on a regular basis. Is there anything worse? There are probably some that come close, but shopping is in a class all of its own. Shopping is most certainly a necessity, I understand, but that still doesn’t change how horrible an activity it is at all.  

While we can all agree that shopping is terrible, it unfortunately gets worse. For starters, there’s grocery shopping, which is the worst of the worst. Also, there’s being hounded by salespeople as soon as you set foot in the establishment. I understand they work on commission, but let me get completely into the store before asking if I need help, Ok?

In a clip posted on YouTube, Carol and Tim go furniture shopping, and a sales associate descends upon them right after they walk into the shop. He badly wants that commission, but both are just browsing. But an overeager salesman who has his sights set on a commission turns out to be the least of their worries.

Carol becomes instantly smitten with Tim, and he also quickly develops a romantic interest in her. The two start browsing pieces of furniture together, which somehow leads to hysterical physical injuries for Tim.

However, without a doubt, the most hilarious part of the entire skit – the reason to watch this classic clip – is when they try out the store’s waterbed. The bed literally springs a leak as Tim desperately tries to cover up the damaged product from the store’s employees. That goes about as well as you would expect, but there are plenty of laughs along the way, despite his failed efforts to conceal the busted waterbed.

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”

Planning to fly with kids? This parenting skit is hysterical and also pretty relatable. Some parents will do whatever it takes, go to some extraordinary lengths to get their youngster to behave in public, especially during an extended flight. Vacationing is excellent, and something most people love. Who in their right mind wouldn't enjoy a week or two away from work and all the other worries of everyday life? Likely one of a parent's worst nightmares is their child throwing a loud, unending fit on a plane. How embarrassing would that be? There is nowhere to go.
