Labor Day weekend is coming up on Sept. 7, and DoorDash is marking the unofficial end of summer by serving up its Top Burger and Hot Dog list. The list recognizes standout small and medium-sized restaurants making it easy to skip the grill and let someone else handle the holiday weekend cooking.

Whether the occasion calls for a smashburger stacked high, a chili-topped hot dog, or a footlong dressed the way your hometown does it, these local spots make it easy to celebrate Labor Day weekend on-demand. From a 90-year-old Virginia diner to a Chicago hot dog stand that's been slinging Vienna Beef since 1954, the list spans decades-old institutions and newer neighborhood favorites alike, including Frankie's Hot Dogs in Connecticut; Crown Burgers in Utah; and Sup Dogs in North Carolina.

Celebrating the Top Burger and Hot Dog Spots

Last year, customers ordered 100+ million burgers and 28+ million hot dogs, according to DoorDash order data from January 2025 to December 2025, proving the classics remain an American staple.

Based on DoorDash data from August 2025 through July 2026, the following list includes small and medium-sized restaurants that serve burgers and/or hot dogs, and have at least 1,000 lifetime reviews, fewer than 10 stores, and the highest average consumer ratings.

The 2026 Top Burger and Hot Dog list was generated by analyzing DoorDash data from June 2025 through June 2026. All small-medium sized restaurants and brands that serve hot dogs and hamburgers, with the highest average consumer ratings during the measurement period, at least 1,000 reviews, and 10 stores or less, qualified for this list.
