Duo's Stunning Cover of The Eagles' 'Take It to The Limit'

This duo’s stunning cover of The Eagles’ ‘Take It to the Limit’ will leave you humming a new tune.  There’s something quietly powerful about artists who invite you behind the curtain—who don’t just perform, but share the journey. That’s exactly what Mary Spender has done, building a devoted following by opening up about what it really looks like to create a sustainable, independent life in music.

With hundreds of thousands tuning in, Mary doesn’t just write songs and make films—she tells the truth about the in-between moments. She shares about the moments in between, the waiting, the wondering, and the rest of the realities of being a content creator and singer. And maybe that’s why her recent cover of ‘Take It to the Limit’ feels so special.

Teaming up with Chris Buck, the two sit knee to knee, guitars in hand, and something beautiful unfolds. It's not a flashy production, just an easy moment between two friends—just two artists completely present with the music and with each other. Chris complements Mary so effortlessly that it almost feels like they wrote the song themselves.

You know I've always been a dreamer
Spent my life runnin' 'round
And it's so hard to change
Can't seem to settle down

The Eagles' "Take It to the Limit" cover is a Tender Portrayl of the Beloved Song

Originally recorded by the Eagles, “Take It to the Limit” has always carried a longing—a reaching for something just beyond grasp. But in this stripped-down version, it softens into something more intimate. More tender. There’s a country-tinged romance woven through every note. A quiet ache. A shared understanding. And as they lean into the melody, you can feel it—they’re not just playing a song. They’re living inside it.

It brings to mind a quote by Leonard Bernstein that Mary has written on her page: “To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time.”

Because maybe that’s what this moment holds—the beauty of not overthinking it and just going with the flow of the music. It’s about showing up with what you have, right now, and letting the music carry you the rest of the way. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s the kind of performance where you appreciate their talents and attempts at our favorite songs.

And maybe that’s the reminder we didn’t know we needed: You don’t have to have it all figured out to create something meaningful. Sometimes, all it takes is showing up, leaning in, and letting yourself get a little lost in the moment.

Daniel Stallworth Stuns with 'Livin' on a Prayer' Rendition

Daniel Stallworth stuns the audience with a ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ cover that would make Bon Jovi proud. It was the same song, but with a jazzy, retro-seventies spin. It’s the only way I can describe it. It’s fun, funky, and fresh while reminding us of the love song’s anthem of never giving up. Some songs don’t just live in the past—they rise up, generation after generation, reminding us what it means to hold on. And when Daniel Stallworth stepped onto the stage to perform Livin' on a Prayer, he didn’t just sing a classic—he reimagined it in a way no one saw coming.

She says, "We've gotta hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot for love
We'll give it a shot"

‘Livin' on a Prayer Was Orginially Released Back in 1986

Originally released by Bon Jovi in 1986, the song quickly became an anthem of perseverance. Written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Desmond Child, it climbed to No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock charts, fueled by its unforgettable chorus and a message that still resonates today: don’t give up, even when life gets hard.

But Daniel Stallworth? He took that message and gave it a new breath.

The stage glowed in warm gold as the band eased into a smooth, jazzy groove—less arena rock, more soulful throwback. It had a retro ‘70s feel, layered with rich instrumentation that felt both unexpected and completely right. And then Daniel began to sing.

It was the same song… but somehow deeper. Softer in places. Stronger in others. Fun. Funky. Fresh.

He didn’t overpower the moment—he owned it, letting the story of the song unfold in a way that felt personal. He had so much fun reinventing the song and gave us a piece of our teen years back.  And isn’t that what “Livin’ on a Prayer” has always been about?

Holding on when everything feels uncertain. Believing that what you’re walking through isn’t the end of your story.

Daniel didn’t just honor the original—he carried it forward. And for a moment, under those golden lights, with every note wrapped in soul and grit, it felt like we were all standing there together… holding on, singing a little louder, and remembering that sometimes faith looks like simply not letting go.

Because even now—decades later—that anthem still whispers the same truth: We’re halfway there.

Stunning Cover of Celine Dion's 'It's All Coming Back to Me Now'

There are performances that impress…, and then there are performances that leave you completely undone, especially if it's a Celine Dion cover—in the best way. And when Dwayne Gretzky takes the stage, it’s clear within moments—you’re about to experience something unforgettable when he performs a stunning cover of Celine Dion’s ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.’

Known as Canada’s greatest party band, Dwayne Gretzky doesn’t just play music—they ignite it. With a jaw-dropping repertoire of over 800 songs spanning the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, and 2000s, they breathe new life into every note, every lyric, every memory tied to the music we love.

But their recent performance of ‘It's All Coming Back to Me Now?’ It didn’t just entertain—it stirred something deeper, bringing you right back to the moment when you first heard Celine belt out this incredible romance ballad.

From the very first note, the room felt different. The harmonies were rich—layered in a way that wrapped around you like a memory you didn’t know you missed. One listener wrote, “You guys have such a rich, rich harmony together. Every time.” And honestly, that’s exactly it. There’s a fullness to their sound that doesn’t just reach your ears—it reaches your heart.

As they sang, you couldn’t help but whisper the words you know by heart:

It was dead long ago, but it's all coming back to me
It's so hard to resist, and it's all coming back to me
I can barely recall, but it's all coming back to me now
But it's all coming back

Another fan shared, “That was SO good it actually made me cry a bit.”

Music Unlocks Something Tender

Because sometimes music does that, doesn’t it? It unlocks something tender. It reminds us of who we were, who we loved, what we’ve lost… and what still lingers. And the comments kept pouring in—people counting down the days until they could see them live, others begging them to come back to their hometowns. One fan didn’t hold back: “You all really are the best cover experience in North America.”

And maybe that’s what makes this band so special. It’s not just the talent (though there’s plenty of that). It’s the way they carry the music—with joy, with reverence, with a kind of electric energy that invites everyone in.

It was so fun to hear a unique version of the song, and for a moment, it was a shared connection for everyone listening. A room full of people remembering, singing, feeling—together. And in a world that can feel disconnected, that kind of experience? It matters more than we realize.

So if you ever get the chance to see Dwayne Gretzky live—go. Let yourself feel it. Let the music take you back, even if just for a song. Because sometimes, it really is all coming back to us now.

“Can You Feel the Love Tonight” is From the Movie, The Lion King

When it comes to “Can You Feel The Love Tonight,” the beautiful song was featured in the Disney movie ‘The Lion King’ when the main character, Simba, falls in love with his childhood friend Nala, to the dismay of his friends Timon and Pumbaa. Elton John wrote the song, and the voice actors in the film sang it in the movie scene. Elton John’s version plays over the film's end credits.

At first, the song was originally supposed to be a parody by Timon and Pumbaa, but Elton John wanted it to be a big romantic number. That’s when it was reworked as a love song about Simba and Nala's budding romance. The reception of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” went so well that it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1995.

Hundreds of Musicians Gather for ‘Proud Mary’ Performance

Hundreds of musicians gather for a “Proud Mary” performance, and it’s really something to see. Watching such a large group hit it off together is amazing. Play the video to see it.

Rockin’1000 brought together the 1000 performers in one big arena in New Orleans to play “Proud Mary” together. Hundreds sang together, and others played drums, guitars, saxophones, trombones, and other instruments. The large group had musicians from 26 countries and 46 states.

It is impossible to sit still as you listen to the huge euphony of sounds. The cameramen do a great job of capturing it all, despite the crew’s enormous size.

The hundreds of musicians’ "Proud Mary" is the Ike & Tina Turner version. Some of the lyrics the group sings are:

Left a good job in the city
Working for the man every night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleeping
I weren't worryin' 'bout the way that things might have been

“Proud Mary” is one of those songs that resonates with everyone and makes you feel good. It’s about having a more peaceful life, even if that comes with a cost. Even if you don’t have much, sometimes it’s better to have a little more joy than more income.

“Proud Mary” was written by John Fogerty After He Left the Army

Clearance Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty wrote the song after he left the Army, which he had been drafted into.

“I was so happy, I ran out into my little patch of lawn and turned cartwheels. Then I went into my house, picked up my guitar and started strumming. ‘Left a good job in the city’ and then several good lines came out of me immediately,” he said

“By the time I hit ‘Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river,’ I knew I had written my best song. It vibrated inside me. When we rehearsed it, I felt like Cole Porter,” he said

These hundreds of musicians' "Proud Mary" performances will stick with you long after you listen.

Check out this video performance of The Oak Ridge Boys’ “Elvira” at the Grand Ole Opry. The voices of The Oak Ridge Boys blend so well together, and it is so lovely to listen to them sing. This particular performance was recorded on February 20th, 1981.

‘Eyes that look like heaven, lips like cherry wine
That girl can sure enough make my little light shine
I get a funny feeling, up and down my spine
'Cause I know that my Elvira's mine’

What a great performance from this iconic group! This is definitely one of those songs that takes people back when they hear it.

“Wow! This was probably the fourth or fifth time we ever sang ‘Elvira’ live!” writes The Oak Ridge Boys on YouTube. “Who woulda thought we'd still be singing this song 45 years later?”

“Elvira” Was Written By Dallas Frazier

The song "Elvira" was written and originally recorded by Dallas Frazier. It was a minor hit for him at the time of release, but the song became a major pop and country hit for The Oak Ridge Boys in 1981. Not only does "Elvira" endure as one of The Oak Ridge Boys' signature songs, but it is also a standard in American popular music.

When it comes to The Oak Ridge Boys, they are made up of lead singer Duane Allen, bass singer Richard Sterban, tenor Joe Bonsall, and baritone William Lee Golden. The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of The Oak Ridge Boys have spawned dozens of country hits and earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM awards. Keyla Richardson Stuns with Beatles' Classic on American Idol

29-year-old singer Keyla Richardson stuns with this Beatles classic on American Idol. Her version of “With a Little Help from My Friends” is just incredible. She had all the judges standing on their feet. Watch the video to witness it!

Keyla Richardson has outdone herself in this American Idol performance. The single mom brought a gospel sound to a Beatles song, and it is just unforgettable. Both in her mentorship session with Keke Palmer and Brad Paisley and in her performance, she made Keke tear up just through the sound of her voice.

Keke gave her a hug and told her, “Such a special voice. Wow. That was ancestral, girl. What you're doing is more than just singing. You're embodying spirit through song."

“That’s beautiful. Seriously,” Keke told her.

Keyla Richardson Sings “With a Little Help From My Friends”

It’s incredible that Keyla’s voice is so moving that she could bring tears to someone’s eyes.

Keyla chose the song because God had given her good “destiny” friends who have helped her when she’s needed them.

Some of the lyrics in “With a Little Help From My Friends” are:

Are you sad because you're on your own?
No, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends

The song was released in 1967 and written by The Beatles’ Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

The beginning lyrics were originally “What would you do if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and throw tomatoes at me?" However, Ringo Starr did not want to sing it because he thought fans would throw tomatoes at him during the live performance.

Keyla Richardson’s American Idol performance of the song is truly a wonder. She pours all of her energy into it, and the crowd soaks up every moment.

Stunning Rock Cover of Hymn 'Amazing Grace'

This rock cover of the beloved hymn “Amazing Grace” is stunning. This absolutely jaw-dropping rendition of the song near and dear to the hearts of many is one that you’ll find yourself returning to again and again. Watch the short but awe-inspiring to hear this excellent performance of “Amazing Grace.”

Covers are a dime a dozen today. If you’re a fan of musical covers, well, you’re in luck because you have plenty of options. They can be found literally everywhere – American Idol, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, YouTube and on every popular social media platform. You are also certain to find covers everywhere music is streamed – Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora and others. There is really no way of getting away from them. Oh, you may try, but in the end, you’ll find it a pointless and futile exercise.

Not only are covers plentiful, but they also span a wide and deep swath of music. Nearly every song imaginable has a cover somewhere. I’d argue that if you searched deep and long enough, you’d probably come across a cover to every song, even deep cuts, ones that only true, diehard fans know.

But by far the biggest complaint about covers is how many of them sound exactly like the original. If you’re going to cover someone else’s song, at least try something different. Mix it up a little bit, right? Well, in a clip posted on YouTube, that is exactly what listeners get with a cover of “Amazing Grace.”

“Amazing Grace” is a song everyone has likely heard hundreds, maybe even thousands of times. However, you’ve never heard it like this before. Instead of the same old thing, this time the beloved church hymn got turned into a rock anthem.

Yes, it’s the same lyrics that we can all sing entirely from memory, but with a much different sound. And honestly, this interpretation is thoroughly enjoyable.

See, a little change doesn’t hurt anyone. In fact, it can even be a good thing!

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

This 'Edge of Seventeen' Cover Really Rocks

The first few seconds of this cover really rock when you hear the opening chords of “Edge of Seventeen.” It takes you back, doesn’t it?

Released in 1981 by Stevie Nicks from her debut solo album Bella Donna, it’s one of those songs you don’t just hear—you feel. That unmistakable, chugging guitar riff and steady drumbeat became the soundtrack to a generation, and honestly, you could say we were all raised on those chords. The song itself carries depth, too—written in the wake of heartbreaking loss, including the death of her uncle; it holds both grief and grit in every line. It went on to climb to No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has remained one of her most enduring, recognizable songs, even earning a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like she's singin' "Ooh, ooh, ooh"
Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like she's singin' "Ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh"

The 'Edge of Seventeen' Cover Transports You Back

And now? Now it’s the kind of song that plays and instantly transports you—not to who you were exactly, but to the feeling of being alive in those years. My husband and I can’t help it—we turn it up every single time and sing like we’re back in those carefree days. Of course, our teens and adult kids give us that dramatic eye roll, like here they go again. But let’s be honest… we’ve caught it on a few of their playlists too. Some songs just refuse to fade, no matter how much time passes.

That’s one of the sweetest gifts of this generation—the way music keeps getting passed down, reimagined, and brought back to life. Bands like First to Eleven step in and breathe fresh energy into the songs we’ve loved for decades. And their cover of “Edge of Seventeen”? They absolutely knock it out of the park. It’s got that same driving pulse, that same edge, but with a fresh intensity that pulls you right in. You hear it, and suddenly you’re caught between then and now—between who you were and who you’ve become.

Because maybe that’s what songs like this really do. They remind us that even though the years have changed us, the core of who we are—the girl who sang at the top of her lungs, who felt everything deeply, who believed life was meant to be lived wide open—is still right here. Still singing. Still showing up. Still choosing joy.

So go ahead—turn it up. Ignore the eye rolls. Sing anyway. Because some songs aren’t just music… They're memories, they’re healing, and they’re proof that the best parts of us never really leave.

Contestants Dazzle with Fleetwood Mac Duet on The Voice

These two Voice Contestants Dazzle with a Fleetwood Mac duet on The Voice. You have just got to see it. They are the duo no one saw coming.

Abigayle Oakley and Julia Golden’s "Rhiannon" is so unexpected and beautiful. Each of the young ladies sings with such style and passion. You can not take your eyes off them when they perform.

All of the judges were excited by their performance, even though they could only pick one favorite from the two.

Judge Kelly Clarkson said, “There were moments that both of you—the reason why you’re here—you both have something really magical with your tone. You both have something really magical about your voices that are very different.”

Stevie Nicks Wrote “Rhiannon” Back in 1974

Stevie Nicks wrote the song in 1974. It’s about an imagined magical being. She wrote it just minutes after reading the book, “Triad: a Novel of the Supernatural.”

Stevie said, “My story was definitely written about a celestial being, I didn’t know who Rhiannon was, exactly, but I knew she was not of this world”

Abigayle Oakley and Julia Golden’s "Rhiannon" doesn’t sound so much like Fleetwood Mac’s, which had a much more rock kind of sound. But each of these Voice contestants makes the song their own. They each bring their own beauty to it. Abigayle brings a deeper, more solemn tone while Julia keeps it a little lighter.

As you listen, you’ll be captivated from the first note of “Rhiannon” to the last. It’s slightly haunting, but also lovely. It is just as intimate as it is powerful. The slightly competitive energy on stage also makes it more interesting to watch. It’s not often you hear two distinct styles coming together to compete and it certainly leaves a lingering impression. These two women are bound for successful music careers.

Stunning Cover of '90s Classic 'You Get What You Give'

There’s something about this stunning cover of the beloved ‘90s classic “You Get What You Give” that feels like a kind of muscle memory for the soul. Before you even realize it, you’re there again—windows down, music loud, heart wide open to a future you couldn’t quite see yet. Back when life felt big and uncertain and full of possibility all at once.

And now? Now you’re standing in your kitchen with dishes in the sink, maybe a grandbaby on your hip or grown kids texting you from places you once prayed they’d go. Your life looks different than it did back then—but that song still finds you, and maybe it finds you right when you need it most.

“You Get What You Give” Lyrics

You've got the music in you, Don't let go
You've got the music in you, One dance left
This world is gonna pull through, Don't give up
You've got a reason to live, Can't forget

Released in 1998 by the New Radicals and written by Gregg Alexander, the song quickly became more than just a hit—it became an anthem. Blending alternative rock and pop with a message about holding onto hope in a world you can’t control, it was written in the key of D major with an easy, driving tempo that somehow still makes your heart lift decades later. And now, when Dwayne Gretzky takes the stage and breathes new life into it, it’s like stepping straight back into the best parts of your story.

And this song? It isn’t just nostalgia—it’s a gentle nudge. A reminder that even now, especially now, you haven’t missed your moment, life is still good even after all these years. There is still joy to chase, still laughter to feel deep in your chest, still dreams tucked quietly in your heart waiting for a little courage to bring them back to life. You are seasoned with wisdom, wrapped in grace, and walking proof that God keeps writing beautiful stories long after we think the chapters should have ended.

So the next time ‘You Get What You Give’ starts playing—whether it’s the original or Dwayne Gretzky’s unforgettable cover—turn it up. Let yourself dance a little in the kitchen. Let yourself remember what it feels like to hope again. Let yourself believe that there is still more ahead of you than behind you. Because you didn’t come this far just to stop now—and maybe, just maybe, this is the season where you don’t just remember who you were… you begin to live like her again.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

You've Never Heard This Bee Gees Classic Like This Before

You’ve never heard this Bee Gees classic like this before. This cover of their most beloved tune is, without a doubt, unlike any you have ever heard and are likely ever to hear. Watch the short but jaw-dropping clip to hear how these vocalists performed “Stayin’ Alive’ in a most unexpected way.

Covers are here, there and, well, just about everywhere. Turn on the TV, flip over to America’s Got Talent, The Voice or American Idol, and you’re bound to hear someone performing a cover. Visit YouTube, and more than likely one of the first couple of videos you’ll encounter will be of a musician doing a cover of an iconic, beloved song. Log in to your Spotify or Apple Music account, and covers are sure to pop up in your personalized mix.

Getting away from covers is no easy task. If that’s your goal, you may try, but you’re likely to waste a lot of energy doing so, and when you think you’ve succeeded, out of nowhere pops a cover. They are everywhere; just be prepared.

People who dislike covers usually do so for one big, completely understandable reason: they're often nothing more than a carbon copy of the original. Do something different, give us something original. Show us what your interpretation of a classic song sounds like. Well, that’s what a group of vocalists provides with their rendition of the Bee Gees’ “Staying Alive.”

In the clip posted on YouTube, they sing the Disco-era tune as if it were a Renaissance madrigal. I’m almost certain that of all the times you may have heard this song, none of them have been done so in this way.

Even if you are not a fan of this version, these vocalists deserve a ton of credit for their efforts. They did something original, thought outside the box and didn’t just perform the same way it has been done for the last 40 years or so.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Hannah Harper Wows with 'Heads Carolina, Tails California' on American Idol

Hannah Harper wows with our beloved favorite, ‘Heads Carolina, Tails California’ cover on American Idol, and you can’t help but watch the video over and over again!. There are songs that become part of your story, your teenage years. And ‘Heads Carolina, Tails California’ by Jo Dee Messina is one of those songs for so many of us.

Released in January 1996 as her debut single, it quickly climbed into the Top 10 on both the U.S. and Canadian country charts, introducing us to a voice that felt like freedom with a little bit of sass. For us teenagers, it carried that dreamy, toss-a-coin kind of wonder—like life could turn on a dime and take you somewhere wide open and beautiful. And somehow, decades later, it still does.

Baby, what do you say we just get lost?
Leave this one horse town like two rebels without a cause
I've got people in Boston, ain't your daddy still in Des Moines?
We can pack up tomorrow, tonight let's flip a coin

'Heads Carolina, Tails California' Makes Everything Feel Possible

I was barely a freshman in high school when that song came on the radio, and I remember how it made everything feel possible. I’m pretty sure I had her CD tucked somewhere in my room, playing it on repeat like it held all the answers to growing up. Fast forward to now, and I’m listening to that same song as the sun dips low over Nebraska skies, folding laundry, navigating teenage drama, and tossing feed to the chickens—and somehow it still fits. Maybe differently… but just as beautifully.

Heads Carolina, tails California, Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean. Where it don't matter as long as we're goin'
Somewhere together, I've got a quarter, Heads Carolina, tails California

So when Hannah Harper stepped onto the American Idol stage in 2026 and brought this song back to life, you could feel it all over again. The freedom. The joy. The let’s just see where life takes us kind of energy. Oh, Hannah… I don’t think you even knew how much this song meant to a whole generation of women who were once girls with big dreams and open roads in front of them.

And maybe we’re not flipping coins and chasing highways the same way anymore… but we’re still living bravely in the middle of our real lives. Still choosing joy in the everyday. Still remembering who we were—and honoring who we’ve become. Because some songs don’t age… they anchor.

This 'We Got The Beat' Cover Will Have You Singing Along

This impressive 'We Got The Beat' cover will have you singing along in no time. It’s super cool and lively. Play the video to keep up “the beat” with the Dwayne Gretzky band.

This "We Got the Beat" cover is full of energy and fun. The 11-member group is absolutely having a blast as they sing, strum, and dance to The Go-Go’s classic song. The unique old TV intro is a nice touch, too. And there are so many guitars—I can’t count them all.

There is a brief moment where the instruments fall away to make room for a cappella, and it’s a wonderful addition to the complex arrangement.

“We Got the Beat” was written by the Go-Go’s guitarist, Charlotte Caffey, for their album “Beauty and the Beat.”

She said, “The song came to me within five minutes… It was one of those things that just went right through me and came out my hand; I wrote it down, recorded it a little bit, and then brought it into rehearsal a few days later."

The Go-Go’s were the first all-female band to top the U.S. albums chart.

“We Got the Beat” is an Anthem

The Go-Go's bass player, Kathy Valentine, said, "I think of 'We Got The Beat' as an anthem. It's very trance-like, so you combine that trance factor with the beat and the anthem nature and it's very unique."

The Dwayne Gretzky group’s "We Got the Beat" cover is full of The Go-Go’s energy. It is pretty hard not to tap your feet to the song or chime in as you listen. They’ve got a playful style and great coordination that gives the song a fresh new spark. I think the original girl group would agree that they have done a marvelous job with the song. If you find yourself wanting to play it over and over again, I wouldn’t blame you.

Chilling Rendition of Dolly’s ‘Coat of Many Colors’ Is a Must-Listen

Mike & Marty’s chilling rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors” is a must-listen for any Dolly Parton fan. The brother-sister duo will have you hanging on every lyric. Play the video to listen.

Their YouTube video of their Dolly Parton "Coat of Many Colors" cover opens to a beautiful rural Pennsylvania sunrise before the scene changes to Marty and Mike sitting in a quaint church. Marty gently sings while her brother strums on his guitar. Her voice is so gentle, and she does a beautiful job of telling Dolly’s childhood story through song.

“Coat of Many Colors” is Dolly Parton’s Story

“Coat of Many Colors” tells the story of Dolly’s mom’s thoughtful hand-stitched gift to her—a vibrant coat made of rags. Even though it showed how poor her family was, Dolly was proud of the coat her mother lovingly made for her. Dolly grew up in a one-room cabin in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, in the Appalachian mountains. She had 11 siblings.

Some of the lyrics in the Dolly Parton "Coat of Many Colors" cover are:

As she sewed, she told a story from the Bible she had read
About a coat of many colors Joseph wore and then she said
Perhaps this coat will bring you good luck and happiness
And I just couldn't wait to wear it and momma blessed it with a kiss

Dolly said of her upbringing, "We always made jokes and said we didn't even know we were poor till some smart aleck up and told us. We didn't have any money, but we were rich in things that money doesn't buy. You know, like love and kindness and understanding."

And that’s the whole message of her song, “Coat of Many Colors.” She has a knack for telling stories through song, and Mike and Marty give it a wonderful try in their rendition.

Stunning Rendition of CCR's Classic 'Bad Moon Rising'

This is a completely stunning rendition of CCR's classic “Bad Moon Rising.” It’s got everything you could want in a Creedence Clearwater Revival song cover. Give it a listen by clicking the video below.

Maria Mariadou and Giorgos Keratsopoulos’s "Bad Moon Rising" CCR cover hits the spot. The duo is very multi-talented. Maria’s voice is deep and scratchy, and she sings well while she plays the drums and tambourine. George’s guitar playing, stompbox, and vocal skills are also top-notch.

“Bad Moon Rising” is an edgy song with a lively beat. Even though the lyrics are ominous, you just can’t stop singing them. Some of the lyrics in the "Bad Moon Rising" CCR cover are:

Well, don't go around tonight
Well, it's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise
Don't go around tonight

“I’d come up with the chords and melody,” recalled CCR’s John Fogerty. “And I got the phrase ‘bad moon rising’ from this little book I’d kept song titles in since 1967. I didn’t even know what it meant, I just liked how the words sounded. Then I remembered one of my favourite old movies – a black-and-white 1941 film called The Devil And Daniel Webster, shot in that spooky, film noir way they did back then.”

“It’s a classic tale where the main character, who’s down on his luck, meets the Devil and sells his soul to him. The scene I liked is where there’s a devastating hurricane; furniture, trees, houses, everything’s blowing around,” he explained. “That story and that look really stuck in my mind and they were the germ for the song.”

He did mean for the song to be a kind of warning. The song came out in 1969, a tumultuous time in America. Nevertheless, people loved it, and they still do.

MG Shuffle does a great job of staying true to the original in their cover, and any rock fan will love their performance.

Pat Benatar Show-Stopping 'Heartbreaker' and 'Ring of Fire' Performance on American Idol

Pat Benatar put on a show-stopping performance of “Heartbreaker” and “Ring of Fire.” The legendary singer showed that after decades of performing, she clearly still has it, putting on a masterful musical performance. Watch the short but jaw-dropping clip to hear and see Pat Benatar sing the classics “Heartbreaker” and “Ring of Fire.”

Entertainment is a fickle and ever-changing field, and that’s always been the case. However, today that seems to be even more true than in decades past. Why? Well, most people today possess the attention span of a gnat. Individuals are always searching for the latest and greatest things, something else that will hold their attention for the next five seconds.

So, because of that, tastes and preferences are constantly changing and evolving. What is popular today is likely to be considered passé and out of touch tomorrow. Trying to achieve a successful, long-lasting career in such a climate is, understandably, difficult. People are always looking for something else, and if entertainers can’t keep up, they get overlooked and pushed to the side.

So, when someone is able to carve out a long, successful career in the entertainment field, that’s when you know they are truly talented. In a clip posted on YouTube, one of those very few, select entertainers, Pat Benatar, demonstrated why she remains a force in music.

She took the American Idol stage and owned it, putting on a rocking performance. Likely, surprising to most, her voice sounds as good as ever. She sang a medley that included her own hit “Heartbreaker” and Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” Those are two songs I never thought would go together, and they blended seamlessly, making for a most enjoyable tune.

This is a performance that you’re likely to play several times to listen to her dazzling vocal performance.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
