MŌRIAH Set To Release New Autobiographical Single 'Kick'

MŌRIAH is "kicking off" the next chapter of her artistry with “Kick,” the debut single from her forthcoming album, slated to drop in 2027. The song, arriving Friday, September 25, lands simultaneous to MŌRIAH's being named a "Spotify Fresh Finds Country" artist. This is Spotify's global program created to champion the next generation of country artists and help propel their careers.

The release comes just days after MŌRIAH performed the National Anthem at the Tennessee Titans vs. Philadelphia Eagles game at Nissan Stadium on September 20, adding another major Nashville moment to a breakout year for the singer-songwriter.

Written by MŌRIAH, Paul Mabury, Jon Hall and Marty Maro and produced by Mabury, “Kick” is a fiery, story-driven country song inspired by the unconventional woman at the center of MŌRIAH’s own family story: her mother. The song traces the moment MŌRIAH’s parents first met. Her mother was dancing in a bar when her future father, playing bass in the house band, spotted her from across the room. Intrigued, he took a chance and approached her — a decision MŌRIAH says ultimately changed the course of her life.

“This one is for the girls,” says MŌRIAH. “The women who stand out, stand up and show up every day. Sometimes, it can be challenging living in the world as an unconventional woman. We break the mold, and make people feel uncomfortable with our ambition, mission, and calling. I inherited this unconventionality from my mother. This song transcribes and underscores the moment her and my father met. She was in a red dress, dancing, and he was mesmerized as the Bass Player in the house band. I’m so thankful he took the risk and approached her. I wouldn’t be here without that bravery. And I carry her same sense of resolve and indomitable spirit.”

With its larger-than-life female character, vivid barroom storytelling and unmistakable attitude, “Kick” celebrates women who stand out rather than blend in. At its heart is the idea that unconventionality can be its own kind of strength — and that taking a chance can change everything.

“Kick” serves as the first musical introduction to MŌRIAH’s new album. The project which continues her exploration of country music through her distinctly personal perspective, including the Latin and Mariachi influences that have become part of her signature sound.

MŌRIAH’s recent milestones include her September 2025 Grand Ole Opry debut, where she stepped into the Opry circle for the first time and performed “Sombrero,” as well as her September 20, 2026 National Anthem performance at the Tennessee Titans vs. Philadelphia Eagles game at Nissan Stadium.

Her momentum continues this fall with the upcoming release of “Home To Me,” her original song featured at the close of the new feature film JIMMY, about legendary actor Jimmy Stewart. The film opens November 6 in more than 3,000 theaters. MŌRIAH will debut “Home To Me” at the Dove Awards on October 6th. The awards show airs on TBN October 9, the same day "Home To Me" releases on all streaming platforms and makes its national debut on Delilah’s nationally syndicated radio show.
